AUSTRALIAN PROCUREMENT

Australian buyer questions

Is a basic dressing pack the same as a wound dressing kit?

Basic dressing pack, wound dressing pack, small dressing kit and wound dressing procedure pack are overlapping purchasing descriptions. Contents vary between suppliers, so compare the component list, materials, dimensions, quantities and packaging rather than relying on the name alone.

Does this dressing pack contain gauze or cotton balls?

This reference configuration contains non-woven swabs and non-woven balls. They should not be substituted with woven gauze swabs or cotton balls without an agreed specification change.

What is included in this small dressing pack?

The reference pack contains a paper–PE wrapping sheet, PVC tray, medical hand towel, five non-woven balls, two non-woven swabs, one yellow and two blue plastic forceps, and a sterilisation indicator pouch.

Can Australian importers customise the dressing pack?

All components, materials, dimensions, quantities, colours, branding and packaging can be customised to your requirements. The final configuration is confirmed before ordering.

How is the dressing pack packed?

The reference packing is 12 individual packs per HDPE bag and 144 packs per carton. Carton dimensions are 52.5 × 32.5 × 50.5 cm, with a gross weight of 7 kg per carton. Reconfirm these details if the configuration changes.

What should Australian buyers confirm before supply?

Confirm the intended purpose, final pack configuration, applicable conformity evidence, labelling and Australian sponsor arrangements. TGA guidance explains that system or procedure packs are regulated as medical devices and require ARTG inclusion before supply. This page does not establish ARTG inclusion for this product.

Regulatory source: TGA guidance on system and procedure packs. Requirements must be checked for the final product and supply arrangements.
